PE Wednesday Challenge


Challenge Wednesday Week

First Challenge: Plank (Push up position)
  1.  Get down on your knees to the ground.
  2.  Both hands shoulder width apart on the ground.
  3.  Stretch both legs out one by one.
  4. Using your toes to balance.
  5.  Lift your stomach off the ground.
  6. Hold it there for as long as possible. Remember to breathe.

Reminder: Parents can help with the timing and getting them into position. Please join in the challenge too and have fun with the challenge together. 

Second Challenge: Elbow Plank (Forearms on the ground)
  1.  Get down to the ground on your knees first.
  2.  Slowly get your whole body laying straight down on the ground.
  3.  Get your elbows and forearms under your chest.
  4.  Toes ready to help push stomach off the ground.
  5.   Hold it there for as long as possible.
  6.   Remember to breathe.
  7.   Get back down to the ground once you are done, nice a slow.

Reminder: Parents can join in for this one, also helping with the timing as well. 

Third Challenge: Pillow Plank (Equipment: Small Pillow)
  1. Get a Small Pillow before you start.
  2.  Both hand shoulder width apart.
  3.  Stretch both legs out one by one, slowly.
  4.  Hold and balance your Body and the Pillow using your arms and legs.
  5.  Good luck and if you drop the Pillow, you can always start again.
  6.   Balance is key and Deep Breathing too.

Reminder: Parents can join in too with their own Pillow and can Challenge each other to see who can hold it longer. Using a timer too to have an idea how long.

Fourth Challenge: Ball Balance Plank (Most Challenging One) (Equipment: Ball (Ping pong ball, Football, etc.)
1.        Get a Ball (Preferably a small one).
2.        Both hands shoulder width apart.
3.        Stretch both legs out nice and slow until both your toes are touching the ground.
4.        Making sure your balance the ball on the back of your Neck.
5.        Don’t worry if the ball rolls away, you can always try again.
6.        Try to hold it for as long as possible
7.        Remember, Breathing really helps with the Holds.

Reminder: Parents can join in with the Challenge too, make sure there is timing if needs be.
