Earth Day Fun Challenges (Week 4)
Today we will be celebrating Earth day together and I
thought we will do something special for out Yoga poses this week. We will also
try to go out and water some plants and even try to plant some flowers or trees
if you have any seeds. Ask your parents to join in your fun Earth day
activities and it will be great to have them around to help with some of the
challenges.
Enjoy your time
together and have lots of fun!
Yoga Poses:
Mountain
Pose
1.
Stand
tall with arms by your side to start.
2.
Split
your legs apart as far as possible but don’t lose your balance.
3.
Keep
balance and slowly bring your arms above your head.
4.
Put
your hands together and hold it there.
5.
5
breaths in and out.
Tree Pose
1.
Stand
tall with arms by your side to start.
2.
Bend
one leg up (any leg).
3.
And
place the bottom of the feet on the side of your other leg.
4.
Slowly
bring your arms up and hold it like a letter “Y”.
5.
Balance
and hold it there for 5 breaths, in and out.
Fire Pose
1.
Get
down to the ground on your knees.
2.
Start
your hand near your belly button.
3.
Make
a big circle with your arms and leave it at the top.
4.
Move
your fingers like fire at the top.
5.
Sway
your body left and right.
6.
Breathe
in a out when making the circle and becoming the fire at the end.
7.
5
breaths, in and out.
Wind Pose
1.
Stand
tall with your arms by your side.
2.
Breath
in and at the same time do a forward lunge with one leg.
3.
When
doing the lunge, make sure to breathe out.
4.
Repeat
step 2 and 3 with the other leg.
5.
Try
to do these with 5 to 6 breaths, in and out.
Rainbow
Pose
1.
Stand
tall with your arm by your side to start.
2.
Split
your legs apart from each other as far as your possibly can.
3.
Put
both your hands near one side of your leg.
4.
Make
a half circle going up and coming back down to the other leg.
5.
Repeat
this process 6 times.
6.
Try
to go nice and slow.
7.
Think
about becoming the rainbow.
Planting and Watering Trees/Flowers/Fruits/Plants
You are going to need:
· Hat
·
Water bottle
·
Small towel
·
Parents help
·
Seeds/Small Plants
·
Watering jugs
·
Sun blocks
